Hi! and welcome to SOLAK. 

We are a completely non-profit organisation that makes quilts for children and adults with long-term illnesses.  We aim to show people, that may be in need of a bit of love and support, that there are others who are thinking of them and wishing them well.  Sometimes it can make all the difference to know that someone, somewhere, is willing you to carry on and fight the battle that these illnesses can be.

Our members cross stitch squares that are then made into quilts and sent to people, of all ages, all over the world.

We have no deadlines and members can stitch any theme that they choose.  All our stitchers have different abilities and we want everyone to be able to join in.  We have some very basic sizing guidelines to make sure that all the squares we receive can be used but other than that what and when you stitch is entirely up to you.  Please check out our squares section here if you are interested in getting involved.

Anyone can request a quilt be it for themselves, a relative, a neighbour or a friend.  All you need is a valid email address and a good home for one of quilts to go to.  There is more information about our quilts and how to request one here.
